Ohashi wins American Cup
Katelyn Ohashi made her Senior gymnastics debut a memorable one as she won the all-around competition at the American Cup, which took place March 2 at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass.
The 15-year-old Planoite trains at WOGA.
Ohashi, a top contender to make the National Team for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, won the first event of the World Cup season with an all-around score of 59.199. Contributing mightily to that mark was her 15.733 on the vault, the highest score in competition.
Ohashi was the 2011 U.S. Junior Champion.
Wolves golf wins twice
It was a banner week for Plano West golf as both the boys and girls teams won tournaments.
The Lady Wolves were up first.
Taking to the tees Wednesday at Waterview, the girls won the Forney Invitational with a team score of 311. All five players (Megan Thothong, Camille Enright, Kaitlyn Fritz, Sara Kim and Ally Jones) finished top 10 in the individual standings and Thothong won the event after posting a round of 68.
The boys matched those team exploits Thursday at Trail Of Frisco by winning the Frisco Invitational.
The boys' winning team total of 309 was compiled by Luke Thomas, Trevor Komenda, Bryson Scott, Marc Johnson and Jake Terry.

Groselle a Senior CLASS finalist
The Citadel senior Mike Groselle is a finalist for the Senior Class Award in men's basketball.

Groselle excels in those categories.
The center is 13th on The Citadel's all-time points list (1,238), third in rebounds (686) and eighth in field goals (501). Groselle has the highest field goal percentage in the program's 102-year history and is the all-time leader in career double-doubles (25) and single season double-doubles (14 in 2011-12).
Groselle, who averaged 16.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in conference, was tabbed all-conference by the Southern Conference coaches and second team all-conference by the media.
Groselle has done well off the court too as the civil engineering major holds a 3.693 GPA.
Fan voting, which accounts for one-third of the final tally, is open at: seniorclassaward.com.
Fans can vote once a day until March 25.
Anderson offered by Arizona
As the days go on, Plano West junior running back Auston Anderson continues to pick up Division I offers.
That latest came from Arizona on Wednesday.
Anderson received his first official offer Feb. 6 when Northwestern came calling. Rice and Navy were then added to the list prior to Arizona.
According to Anderson though, no decision is imminent.
The 5-foot-8, 175-pounder began his district run as a sophomore in 2011, but moved into a full-time starting role this past season. The results were extremely productive for both parties during the Wolves' run to the regional finals as Anderson was a first team all-district and all-Collin County selection after rushing for 1,156 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Hansen helps Harvard win
Harvard girls track and field won the Ivy League Indoor Championships for the first time since 2000 last weekend.

Dolberry set the record with 23 points on the road versus Barry University. The accolades don't stop there as Dolberry was recently named to the Capital One Division II Academic All-America second team. Dolberry, who will attend dentistry school after graduation, holds a 3.96 GPA to go along with her team-best 15.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
