Pulmonary rehab health fair March 12

Come join Wellness Care Center of Denton during Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week to celebrate the benefits pulmonary rehabilitation can provide for patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Wellness Care Center of Denton is hosting an Open House/Mini Health Fair for the public on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at 3200 Colorado Blvd., Suite 103 Denton, TX 7621.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week, initiated by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), aims to educate the community about the role of pulmonary rehabilitation in enhancing the quality of life of individuals with chronic lung disease. This year’s theme, INSPIRATION FOR LIFE honors individuals who struggle to overcome shortness of breath and the pulmonary professionals who work every day to alleviate that struggle and improve patients’ everyday life.
The Wellness Care Center of Denton incorporates education, exercise training and lifestyle counseling to help patients with chronic lung conditions that may include but are not limited to: COPD, emphysema, asthma, and chronic bronchitis. Join us and learn the many aspects of pulmonary rehabilitation as well as education on sleep studies, hyperbaric chambers, hearing tests, lung function screenings, healthy cooking, and many more. There will also be a presentation from Dr. Mukesh C. Saraiya, pulmonologist.
