The CoServ Charitable Foundation (CCF) awarded a $9,590 grant Tuesday to the Greater Lewisville Youth and Family Counseling during the organization’s March board meeting at its new headquarters.
The grant enables the purchase of computers, furniture and other equipment needed for Youth and Family Counseling’s office relocation in Lewisville. The agency offers community counseling and mental health services for all income levels.
“One of the cooperative principles is concern for community,” CCF Executive Director Dennis Engelke said. “This partnership between the CCF and the Greater Lewisville Youth and Family Counseling strengthens the viability of this community by treating famiy, couples and individual problems.”
CCF is supported by CoServ Electric, and funding for the foundation is made possible by donations from residential CoServ Electric Members and CoServ Gas Customers who donate to Operation Roundup® by rounding up their bills to the nearest dollar. All of the extra pennies are used to directly support social, charitable, and civic programs in the CoServ service area.
Other funding sources include CoServ Employee contributions via payroll deductions and onetime gifts throughout the year, and Employee events. The funds raised are classified as “unrestricted” and may support activities or organizations outside the CoServ footprint. For more information about the CCF and its ongoing assistance efforts in communities served by CoServ, visit the charitable foundation page or the CoServ Facebook page.
