Faith Lutheran School in Plano offers free trial of online high school classes

This year, Faith Lutheran High School began offering live online classes using two-way HD-video streaming through the Internet. This allows home-schooled students or others across the country to participate in some of the school's classes in real time.
"The student sees the teacher on his or her home computer or laptop, sees the notes the teacher puts on the e-board, listens to the lecture, and participates in live discussions with other students. Most importantly the teacher will be able to see the student as well. This is vital to verifying understanding, as body posture and facial expressions are half of all human communication," explained Faith Lutheran School Headmaster Tim Merritt of Plano.
Faith Lutheran currently offers Omnibus 1 and Omnibus 3 classes online. The Omnibus class consists of English, Theology, and History (3 credits) and is taught by professional Lutheran school teachers and Pastors with many years of classroom experience. Other classes will be available during the 2013-2014 school year.

In 1971, the congregation of Faith Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas established a 4-year-old preschool for children of the congregation. Since then, the school has grown and opened enrollment to others in the community on a tuition basis. Faith Lutheran School is fully accredited and currently provides classes from pre-school 3-year-olds through the 12th grade. School curriculum is based on the classical model of education.
