She left this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 20, 2013, in Lewisville, Texas.

Joan Carlisle, known fondly to many as "Joanie" or "Momia," was born into a prominent family which included doctors, lawyers, teachers, politicians, soldiers, farmers, merchants, tradesmen, housewives and other hard-working folks.

She had a very good life in her Texas retirement, where she participated in church, various organizations and made many friends. Her family and friends will miss her but have the blessed assurance she is rejoicing in Heaven right now.
