Police said on Tuesday that the two pedestrians who were hit Monday night are at fault for the accident.

On Monday at approximately 6:45 p.m., Lai Thawng and Sang Hrin of Lewisville were struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Fox Avenue in the 1000 block where there is no crosswalk. The pedestrians were transported by CareFlight to Parkland Hospital in Dallas where they are listed as being in stable condition.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, Salvador Rodriguez, was traveling eastbound on Fox Avenue at the time of the accident. He remained at the location until officers arrived and is not expected to face any charges.

Police said the pedestrians failed to yield right-of-way to a vehicle. Police believe alcohol to be a contributing factor with both pedestrians.
