Baseball: Highland Park shuts down Creekview
By Justin Thomas, jthomas@starlocalnews.com
Behind the strength of solid pitching, Highland Park's baseball team entered the postseason riding an eight-game win streak.
Unfortunately for Creekview, the Mustangs faced the red-hot Scots in the bi-district round of the playoffs and came up short, 1-0, in a contest played at Grand Prairie's QuikTrip Park.
Creekview starting pitcher Hayden Howard did his best to keep the Mustangs in the contest. However, the senior just couldn't quite match zeros with Highland Park starter Matt Wilson.
With the win, Highland Park advances to the area round where they will face North Dallas.
