Mesquite boys starting to pick up the pace
The Mesquite boys basketball team got off to a rough start to the season. That was understandable considering several key members of the team were still engaged on the Skeeters' playoff football team.
But as those players have shifted their focus to the basketball court, things have been coming together for Mesquite and that was certainly the case this past weekend.
The Skeeters won four out of five games at the Cedar Hill Lions Club Tournament to improve to 6-7 on the season.
The Skeeters' lone setback came at the hands of crosstown foe West Mesquite.
The Skeeters will return to action on Friday to take on Episcopal School of Dallas and then host Jesuit on Tuesday.
