A woman is now in police custody after assaulting two Walmart employees.

Dallas resident Beatrice Rachelle Adams, 27, was arrested around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday following an incident at Walmart located in the 100 block of FM 3040. According to police, Adams shoplifted undisclosed items from the store. She exited the store and got into her vehicle. As she attempted to flea, a male Walmart loss prevention employee tried to stop her by reaching into the vehicle. Adams punched the employee, but her car clipped a tree.

Another female employee attempted to stop Adams from leaving the scene, but Adams punched her as well. She then backed up and hit the employee with her vehicle.

"The female employee was taken to the hospital, but it is my understanding that she doesn't have life-threatening injuries," said Capt. Kevin Deaver.

Deaver said Adams fled the scene but was stopped and arrested by Carrollton police near Valley View Drive and Interstate 35E.

She is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug, assault causing bodily injury and theft. She is being held in the Lewisville jail in lieu of $170,000 in bonds.

Deaver said police are not releasing the condition of the female employee.
