Phase I of the Stonebrook Parkway Improvement Project begins Tuesday with the closure of some lanes at the intersection of Preston Road and Stonebrook Parkway/Rolater Road.
On both sides of the intersection with Preston Road, one eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be closed. In addition, the location of the left-turn lane in each direction will be temporarily shifted farther from the median. As a result, the operation of the traffic signal will be modified to allow the safe movement of left-turns.
The traffic switch will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday and is expected to take several hours. Motorists are urged to use caution in the area during the traffic switch and to watch for flaggers. After the switch, motorists should expect delays on Stonebrook Parkway and Rolater Road where they approach Preston Road, especially during the morning and afternoon peak periods. It is anticipated that these lanes will remain closed for about three months.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to choose an alternate route in advance. Alternate east/west routes between Preston Road and the Dallas North Tollway are Main Street and Lebanon Road. Wade Boulevard is another option for travel between Preston Road and Parkwood Boulevard.
