The Institute of Classical Architecture and Art’s John Staub Awards Gala will take place at the Dallas Country Club on Oct. 20. Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller & Associates and Ralph Randall are the title sponsors of the second-annual event honoring the best in Texas Classical architecture.

The Institute of Classical Architecture and Art is the leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the practice and appreciation of the classical tradition in architecture and the allied arts. The John Staub awards recognize the best in design and craftsmanship produced by Texas-based architects, landscape architects, interior designers and artisans.

The John Staub Awards program is the ICAA-Texas Chapter’s major annual fundraising effort. The event provides funds for the organization’s programming and scholarships. This year the traditional awards luncheon has been expanded to include the addition of a significant event the Friday night prior to the awards luncheon and ceremony.

The schedule for the weekend includes:

• David Schwarz Lecture, Oct. 19, 5 to 7 p.m., Arlington Hall at Lee Park, 3333 Turtle Creek Blvd. Schwarz, a noted architect from Washington, D.C., will speak on the viability of classical architecture for new public and commercial buildings. A cocktail reception will follow.

• John Staub Luncheon and Awards, Oct. 20, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dallas Country Club, 4100 Beverly Drive

The John Staub Awards weekend is generously supported by Lyn Muse of Lyn Muse Interiors.

“It is an honor to serve on the ICAA-Texas board, which rewards the contributions of professionals who advance the classical tradition in architecture and the allied arts,” says Ms. Muse.

Additional support is provided by John Sebastian, president of the Texas Chapter of ICAA and president of Sebastian Construction Group.
