Swimming: Lakeside Aquatics raises money for charity
From staff reports
Lakeside Aquatic Club, a swim team based out of Flower Mound, recently sent 40 swimmers to Rockwall to help earn money for charity by competing in the second annual Dallas Swim Across America.
Behind the leadership of LAC board president Tim Leonard, Team Lakeside helped raise more than $21,000 and came in third-place as high fund raising team.
"I challenged these kids to raise $15,000 this year," Leonard said. "True to their competitive nature, they exceeded their goal. At Lakeside Aquatic Club, we don't just build champion swimmers; we build young men and women of character. This event gives our swimmers an opportunity to use their gift to benefit others."
