Town celebrates completion of Morriss/Gerault Improvement Project Phase 1

Flower Mound hosted a special ribbon cutting ceremony on today, celebrating the completion of the first phase of the Morriss/Gerault Improvement Project.
Over the past several months, construction crews have worked to expand Morriss and Gerault to six lanes from FM 3040 to FM 2499, construct the flyover onto FM 2499, made intersection and safety improvements, installed new sidewalks and widened most existing sidewalks to six feet, installed new fencing, and planted landscaping along the entire corridor, including 600 trees.
Envisioned during the Master Plan review process, the town will also construct an entryway monument, near the intersection of Gerault Road and FM 2499.

" The project was 6 months late. There are many dead trees and grass along Morris and Gerault. The landscaping around the bridge is not finished. Very poorly run. I drove down 2499 and almost got hit by someone coming off the bridge. "

" What a waste of bond dollars and external revenue dollars (whatever n wherever that is)! We wonder why our country is in such deep debt, because our "leaders" make stupid decisions like building this bridge (milions of $$$$$) There will be more deaths at this intersection more then ever... poorly designed!
