Celina city employee honored at council meeting

At the July regular meeting the Celina city council authorized the city manager to sign a contract for the relocation of a 10-inch water line near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 455 and State Highway 289 for a Texas Department of Transportation project. Funding for the relocation was also approved in an amount not to exceed $100,000.
The council also denied a minor plat for the Carroll Addition in Collin County.
An ordinance to lower the speed limit within the corporate city limits from 60 miles per hour to 50 miles per hour on State Highway 289 was also approved.
City employees were honored at a work session prior to the meeting for their years of service to the city. City Secretary Vicki Faulkner has been with the city for 17 years, Interim Chief of Police Paul Jones has been with the city 14 years and administrative assistant Vicke Cox has served the city seven years. Parks and recreation employee Cody Webb has been with the city six years.
