Police arrest another suspect in home robbery
By Chris Roark, croark@starlocalnews.com
The Flower Mound Police Department arrested another suspect Thursday in connection with a home robbery that took place Oct. 11, 2011.
Police arrested Grand Prairie resident David Nguyen, 37, in the 4100 block of Carrier Parkway in Grand Prairie.
Flower Mound Assistant Police Chief Wendell Mitchell said Nguyen was the driver of the vehicle that took 21-year-old George Thomas Hollingsworth and 25-year-old Sidney Lee Hollingsworth, both of Lewisville, to the 3500 block of Sunnyview Lane in Flower Mound.
Police said the suspects asked where the family keeps its gun.
The male resident told the suspects where the gun was, and when they went to find it, the male resident broke free of the ties.
Police said the resident went to retrieve a shot gun, but George Hollingsworth, the larger suspect, took it from the resident and hit him in the head with it.
Police said the suspects took $9,000 and left. The residents suffered minor injuries.
The brothers were arrested April 17 and April 19.
Mitchell said police had a feeling that someone else was involved.
“Our investigators just kept digging around,” Mitchell said. “We worked off leads and tips. But the two previous arrests was really what gave us the information we needed.”
Nguyen will be charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Bond has not been posted for this charge, but Mitchell said Nguyen was also arrested on a theft charge out of Denton County. Bond for that incident was posted at $50,000.
