Tom Thumb Food & Pharmacy has announced it will open its fourth location in Flower Mound as anchor of Direct Development’s new Cross Timbers Village shopping center. The 140,000-square-foot shopping center will include retail shops and restaurants.

Located at the southwest corner of Bruton Orand Boulevard and FM 1171, the 59,000-square-foot Tom Thumb store will feature a drive thru pharmacy, fuel station and Starbucks in addition to its premier offerings in meat, seafood, bakery, deli, expanded beer and wine, and organic products.

“Tom Thumb has served the residents of Flower Mound for over 20 years, with our first store being built in 1992,” said Paul McTavish, president of Tom Thumb. “We look forward to expanding our customer base and continuing to be part of such a dynamic community.”

Direct Development, a commercial retail development company that has developed over 5 million square feet of retail since the company was founded in 1997, will develop the center. Cross Timbers Village is designed to provide a neighborhood atmosphere and will feature a Restaurant Courtyard and a Family Piazza. The development will also include a Chase Bank and a Walgreens.

“We are thrilled with the amount of interest we have currently. Fortunately it appears now that we have more Tenant’s than space available, so we are really just trying to choose the best merchants for the residents of Bridlewood and Wellington,” said David Watson, Direct Development Founder and Managing Principal.

“Our team of professionals is our greatest strength,” Watson said. “We look forward to partnering with Tom Thumb to provide a shopping experience second to none for the residents of Flower Mound.”
