Check out 'The Red Queen' at Little Elm Public Library, taker her on 'Death's Excellent Vacation'

By Tina Hager
I flew to Arizona this weekend to see my daughter and granddaughter for a surprise birthday visit. She was so surprised that she screamed when I started singing “Happy Birthday” when she came home. The whole trip was a surprise for me as well because I had to take three different airlines, stop at the Los Angeles airport (LAX) on the way and spend the night at the Los Angeles airport. I don’t mind new experiences but I could not even call my daughter to talk to her about everything. I have already written nine pages about my adventure and that was just the flight from DFW to Los Angeles. I have decided to write a book about my airline experiences. I figure it should be a bestseller if it can be read on a round trip flight and maybe if I am lucky it will become a hot item in the Sky Mall catalog.
I have noticed that reading on planes is a very popular thing to do, be it reading books, magazines, electronic devices or of course the Sky Mall catalog.
If you are getting ready to take a trip, bestsellers added this week include “The Red Queen” by Philippa Gregory; “Death’s Excellent Vacation” by Charlaine Harris, Katie MacAlister, etc.; “ The Obama Diaries” by Laura Ingraham and “Angelina: an Unauthorized Biography” by Andrew Morton. New large print includes “The Glass Rainbow” by James Lee Burke and “Live to Tell” by Lisa Gardner. New Christian large print fiction titles added include: “Edge of Apocalypse” and “The Choice”.
Businesses that will be represented in the business fair include Camelot Books, Music, and Games; Cookie Lee Jewelry (Jennifer); Flops by Phyllis (flipflops); Homemade Gourmet—check out the discounts (Jennifer); Jeanne’s Lacy Accents (crocheted items); Jewels by Parklane; Little Elm Toastmasters; Matt Kramer: Voice Mapping for the life you want (free vibroacoustic sound healing demonstrations); Peaches and Melons will have free samples); Sam’s Club; Scentsy Candles by the Diva; and 3-Net Solutions (marketing business). This is a great opportunity to speak with business owners and organizations in Little Elm and the surrounding areas.
As you can see, many activities are going on at your library on Saturday so come spend the day. For more information about anything call the library at 214-975-0430; email library@littleelm.org; or visit the website at www.littleelm.org/library.
