Autumn Fest in Little Elm Park

This year's Autumn Fest is scheduled in Little Elm Park from Sept. 23 through Sept. 26. Activities for the entire family include Pretty Baby Contest, horseshoes and washer toss, barbecue cook-off, homemade salsa contest, Little Miss Autumn Fest, Anything that Floats Race and a 5K fun run and 1 mile walk. Booth rentals will be available on Sept. 7 for selling food, arts and crafts during the four-day event. Call Missy Meador at 972-731-3296 for information.


Rocket academy

It's time to sign up for the All Scouts Rocket Academy to be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the ball fields at the entrance to Lakewood Village. Visit www.pack367.org to register. Denton Arts, Antiques and Autos Extravaganza

The Denton Main Street Assoc. will hold the 11th annual Arts, Antiques and AutosExtravaganza from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 11 in downtown Denton around the historic Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square at 110 W. Hickory St. Events include Attic Treasure information appraisals and games and activities for the kids. Advanced horticultural studies in Sept.

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service's Horticulture Program presents a short course entitled “Advanced Horticultural Studies on Sept. 16 and 17 at the Myers Park and Event Center, 7117 County Road 166 in McKinney. Training is devoted to the selection, use and care of herbaceous perennials in Texas landscapes with presentations from seven top-flight horticultural experts. Camp Dragonfly

Camp Dragonfly is a camp for children who have lost a loved one within the last 2 years. It will be held Oct. 8, 9 and 10 at All Saints Camp on Lake Texoma by Home Hospice of Grayson, Cooke and Fannin Counties. The cost of the camp is $50. Scholarships are available.
