K2 and related substances are no longer legal in Little Elm.

The Little Elm town council approved an ordinance at Tuesday's meeting regarding “restricted substances”. The ordinance prohibits the sale of K2 and related substances.

The ordinance was approved with one no votes from council member David Hillock.

The council also approved a resolution allowing for a temporary concrete batch plant on four acres of land east of the Lobo Lane and Eldorado Parkway intersection.

In the consent agenda a final plat for Paloma Creek South Phase 12 southeast of Danelle Creek Dr. and north of Lewisville Lake was approved.

Also approved was a renewal of a commercial lease between the town of Little Elm and Lakeview Grocery for the animal shelter for $21,600 and a resolution reappointing Harlan Jefferson to the board of managers of the Denco Area 9-1-1 district.

The council honored Little Elm Sgt. Steve Garst for being the recipient of the 2010 Outstanding Crime Prevention Specialist Overall award for the State of Texas. Police Chief Waylan Rhodes presented him with a plaque celebrating his achievement.
