Angel Food ministries
Button Memorial United Methodist Church hosts Angel Food ministries. The ministry provides food to anyone. There is no income requirement. For $30 a box of 14 to 15 items to feed a family of 4 for 2 weeks is available. Other boxes of meat and vegetable items are available for $20 to $24. Go on line at angelfoodministries.com to see what is available and place an order or call Debbie Ingram at 469-261-5358 for information.
The town of Little Elm is under phase one conservation. No watering between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. By not watering during these times more water soaks into the ground instead of being evaporated during the heat of the day. It also helps to preserve Lake Lavon's water levels.
Denton County burn permits
The disposal of vegetation by open burning is permitted in unincorporated Denton County and in some cities (unincorporated areas) but only on a day that has been determined to be a “good burn day.” The burn day status is determined each morning about 8 a.m. Residents of unincorporated areas of the county are now required to purchase a controlled burn permit prior to open outdoor burning. Contact the Denton county Emergency Services office at 940-349-2840 for information on how to obtain a burn permit.
