Triple Chocolate Crock Pot Cake

From Punch Pogue (resident circa 1972)

The timing on this sinful, spoon-served cake depends on your crock pot, so adjust accordingly. You can play with the recipe by adding pecans, cherry pie filling, etc., but in any case, you have to serve it with vanilla ice cream.

Spray crock pot with Pam.

In large bowl, hand mix the following ingredients until smooth. Do not use mixer.

1 package chocolate cake mix

1 pint sour cream

1 large package cook-and-serve chocolate pudding mix.

2 cups chocolate chips

¾ cup vegetable oil

4 eggs, slightly beaten

1 cup water (¾ cup if using pie filling)

Optional – add nuts or filling after mixture is smooth.

Pour into prepared crock pot and cook on low for 6 hours. Spoon serve with ice cream.
