Lady Mustangs move into second place

The McKinney Christian Academy girls basketball team moved into second place in District 4-2A Friday with a 60-35 thumping of Greenville Christian.
MCA (16-6, 2-1) was again led by the hot shooting of senior guard Emily Crombar, who blistered the nets for 14 first-quarter points on the way to a game-high 24. The Lady Mustangs held a comfortable 18-6 lead entering the second period and swelled the advantage to 19 points at halftime as six different players got into the scoring act.
Crombar scored seven in the stanza and got help from fellow starters Pris Melton, wing Taylor Brock and post Ellie Kimball. Reserves Nat Lemieux and Kaitlynn Mcadams also chipped in off the bench.
Crombar knocked down her fourth 3-pointer of the game in the third quarter and Melton dumped in six points as the Lady Mustangs extended the lead to 49-25 heading into the fourth quarter.
Collins, who recorded a game-best 11 rebounds, shook loose for six points in the final stanza and sophomore Kayli Bollinger added three as MCA coasted in for the win.
