County Clerk Services Expand to Eastern Denton County

Denton County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell offers many of the services locally for residents of Little Elm, Cross Roads and Aubrey areas that citizens are still driving to Denton to obtain.  The new Stephen Copeland Government Center located at 1400 FM 424 in Cross Roads houses a satellite office facility for the county clerk among other offices. Citizens can obtain marriage licenses, birth certificates, passports with photos and file assumed name certificates.  Additionally, there are 3 public research computers for real property records searches.

Assumed Name Certificates are commonly referred to as “dba” certificates, or a ‘doing business as’ certificate.  Any unincorporated business operating under a business name should have an assumed name certificate on file with the County Clerk.  In fact, most banks require proof of filing prior to opening a business checking account.

“I am excited to deliver this major convenience to our citizens.  All residents of the eastern and northern cities in Denton County will be able to obtain these services locally, saving them a trip to Denton,” Mitchell stated.
