Little Elm student accepted to Texas Academy of Math and Science
By ACN Staff
Nick Abreo, a student at Wakeland High School, has been accepted to the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. He is the son of Noel and Laila Abreo of Little Elm.
TAMS is a two-year residential program at the University of North Texas that allows talented students to complete their freshman and sophomore years of college while earning their high school diplomas.
Abreo will enter TAMS this fall, live in a UNT residence hall and attend UNT classes with college students. He should graduate in May 2010 with 60 hours of college credit and the equivalent of a high school diploma. TAMS students stay at UNT or transfer to other universities to finish their bachelor’s degrees.
