LEISD kicks off planning process with public forum
By Renee Caldwell
Little Elm ISD is keeping its focus on planning by hosting a community forum from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Little Elm High School, 1900 Walker Lane.
The district has chosen a come and go format in hopes of attracting as many people as possible to what district officials describe as a starting point for the strategic planning process.
The forum's format also will allow community members an option for written input through a questionnaire, in addition to an opportunity to speak one-on-one with lead administrators in the district and with board of trustee members.
Individuals who attend the forum will be the first community members to have an opportunity at involvement in the strategic planning process.
"We will have sign ups for general committee positions as well as topic-specific task forces that will be formed after the initial meeting" Murray stated.
Principals from the various Little Elm campuses have been asked to attend to address any campus-specific concerns.
Because there will be so many administration officials in attendance, the district hopes to be able to answer any questions immediately, but in the instances that questions cannot be answered or more information is needed, Murray said they will make every effort to communicate as quickly as possible.
To create a family friendly atmosphere, the LEHS Student Council will offer child care for children ages 10 and younger for the time parents spend in dialogue with district representatives.
Interpreters for Spanish-speaking and hearing-impaired audience members will also be on-hand for assistance.
